All-Round Support for Students' Career Development
Time: All-Round Suppor Address:

Following the workplace experience seminar in Mercer in June, Hope International Education invited Russell Brown, founder of EdsetGo International, a specialized career guidance company, to give HOPE students online and offline career-related training early this month.

These were examples of HOPE’s campaign to support students career development as its after-sale services. Other events Hope has been organizing includes local company visit, HR directors presentation,   dialogues with overseas returned students, and presentation by directors of UK universities’ career office.  Enhancing career skills to find a satisfying job quickly is one of the main concerns of Chinese students today. That's why HOPE is developing more partners from multiple sources to train students with those skills.

On the evening of 18th July, Alex Wen, General Manager of HOPE Shanghai, together with Russell held a practical online presentation. More than 20 students joined this meeting. Alex shared a lot of data to show the preferences of today's international students, job-seeking industries, and the advantages of overseas graduates, while Russel focused on career essentials for today’s international students. For those who could not take online presentation on that day, another in-depth and interactive offline meeting with Russell was arranged on 27th July. Participating students expressed that they had gained a lot and had a clearer direction for their future job search.

It's clear from these experiences that students pay a lot of attention to the career development. Therefore, HOPE suggested that overseas institutions could highlight this aspect of the school's services in the marketing promotion, for example, inviting successful alumni, academic teachers and career office teachers to share job perspectives for graduates, guidance on job searching and career services available on campus either online or face to face with the students. Chinese students are quite interested in these and it is one of the points they consider in choosing an overseas institution.
